accidental sysadmin

I didn't apply for this job. And yet, here we are.

About

I'm the sole IT person for a mid-sized company that's big enough to have real problems but not big enough to hire a second person to help me deal with them. Classic.

My day is a beautiful mix of hybrid identity management, Microsoft 365 administration, security incidents that always happen on Fridays at 4:45pm, PowerShell scripts held together with duct tape, firewall rules I wrote three years ago that I'm now afraid to touch, and the occasional printer jam because apparently that's still my job too.

I started this site because I keep solving the same obscure problems over and over and forgetting how I fixed them. So really this is just my notes that I'm putting on the internet. If they help you, cool. If not, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not your helpdesk. I'm barely my own helpdesk.

There are no ads here. No newsletter. No "subscribe to my course on Kubernetes for only $499." I can barely keep Exchange Online running, I'm not selling you anything.

Contact

Honestly? Don't. I get enough tickets as it is. But if you really need to reach me for some reason, I haven't built a contact form yet because I've been too busy fixing literally everything else. So just... wait, I guess.
